Use Your Authority!

“Behold, I give you the authority

to trample on serpents and scorpions,

and over all the power of the enemy..."

Luke 10:19

You may not be aware, but you are engaged in a spiritual battle in the unseen realm. Your clash with this invisible foe is very real. The effects of this battle can often manifest physically in sickness and disease, but the root of the conflict is spiritual. Acts 10:38 refers to sickness and disease as 'oppression of the devil.' But, fear not, because as a believer, you have been empowered with authority to have victory over this battle through Jesus Christ. He has enabled you to triumph through His death, burial, and resurrection. Now it's your responsibility to stand your ground, use your authority, and run the devil out of your body.

Originally, God gave Adam authority over the earth, but through disobedience, Adam gave away his dominion to Satan, who became the god of this world. (2 Corinthians 4:4) In the New Testament we see that Jesus came to the earth as a man, dethroned principalities and powers, stripped Satan of all authority over man and defeated the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8/Colossians 1:12)

Following His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus conferred His authority to the Church. Thus, all believers have been given this same authority. (Matthew 28:18,19) That means you and me! As a believer, you have been given the authority to command sickness and disease to leave your body and stop tormenting you in the Name of Jesus. Let me repeat that! You have authority over all the power of the enemy and that includes sickness and disease! The enemy is a defeated foe and cannot harm you. (Luke 10:19)

You have been empowered with authority, in the Name of Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, to run Satan out of your life. You must do this; it does you no good to ask God to do it! You are to "give no place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27) It's up to you to exercise your authority. Jesus won the battle over sin, sickness, fear, defeat, poverty and all the works of the devil. Now it's your responsibility to uphold and enforce the victory Jesus won for you!

DAILY DECLARATION

No longer will I allow the enemy to reign in my life. Jesus Christ defeated the devil, and I will uphold that defeat in my life. I will exercise my authority over the devil. Now, get out of here devil; get off my body in the Name of Jesus Christ. It is written: I have been healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:24) So, go now; get out!
