Refuse Doubt and Unbelief

“Now He could do no mighty work there...because of their unbelief."

Mark 6:5,6

Unbelief. It's not a popular topic, particularly among believers. As born-again believers, we'd all like to think that we believe. Yet so often today a common hindrance to receiving our healing is unbelief. Even in Jesus' day there was so much unbelief that it hindered Him from performing miracles in his own hometown of Nazareth. And when the disciples asked why they couldn't cast the demon out of the epileptic boy, Jesus responded: "Because of your unbelief." (Matthew 17:20)

Many times we believe that Jesus can heal or that He will heal us; that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. But we don't believe that, as it says in the scriptures, He has healed us. (1 Peter 2:24) This is quite a challenge to wrap our heads around ~ and that's part of the problem. We're trying to understand with our minds what only our hearts, or spirits can understand. 1 Corinthians 2:14 tells us that: "the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

1 Peter 2:24 declares that "by whose stripes you were healed." Matthew 8:17 says that "He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses." Psalm 103:3 says: "Who heals all your diseases." Do you believe those passages? Do you believe that you are already healed; all the while your body is screaming with symptoms. Our physical senses will war and revolt against God's Word all the time. There's a continual battle between your senses and your faith. Yet, if the Word says you were healed, that is what you are to believe despite your physical symptoms. As believers, the spirit realm must supersede the physical realm.

Personally, I spent countless hours trying to figure out how Jesus healed me on the cross two thousand years ago...all the while symptoms were raging in my body. I was using my physical senses to determine whether I was healed, rather than just accepting what the Word said. Finally, there came a point when I recognized that God was not asking me to understand, but simply to believe. It was when I accepted what the Word said that things began to change.

So, if you want to be a believing believer, align your thoughts, words and actions with God's Word. It's believing with your heart and confessing with your mouth that creates the reality of it in the physical realm. (Romans 10:10) We must believe it before we see it. Refuse to allow unbelief to hinder your healing. Endeavor to become a believing believer!

DAILY DECLARATION

Thank you, Holy Spirit, that you lead me into all truth. I admit that I haven't believed that I am healed because I am experiencing symptoms in my physical body. Give me revelation today about how I am healed by the stripes of Jesus Christ. I endeavor to walk in the truth.
