Praise is one of the greatest gifts you can give to God in the midst of your health challenge. It is also one of your greatest weapons against the enemy. When the enemy is intent on attacking you with pain and symptoms, one of the best things you can do is offer up a sacrifice of praise to the One who is fighting this battle for you.
Praising God during your health challenge enables you to shift you attention from what you are experiencing in the natural and allows you to focus on God and His promises. Focusing on your symptoms only empowers the sense of defeat in your life. Whereas lifting your voice in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord, even when you're feeling weary and worn-out, can bring you into His presence where you will be refreshed, renewed, and strengthened in spirit. Proverbs 18:14 declares that it's the spirit of a man that sustains him in sickness. Your spirit-man is supernaturally strengthened when you magnify God above your circumstances. And, if you're facing a health challenge, particularly a lengthy one, you will need a strong spirit to see you through.
Praising God is a expression of your faith and your trust in God. Psalm 22:3 declares that God inhabits the praises of His people. No matter what is happening at the moment or how isolated you feel, you can be assured that God is present in your time of need. You may not feel up to praising Him, and it may be a challenge, but resist the temptation of allowing your emotions to dictate your actions.
Even during your darkest hours when your circumstances seem impossible, with the storm raging, tears streaming down your face, you can choose to lift your heart to the Lord and give Him praise. The devil wants you to focus on your symptoms, amplifying them in your mind instead of focusing your attention on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of your faith. We serve a faithful, amazing, and wonderful God who is worthy to be praised. Endeavor to give Him a continual sacrifice of praise and watch Him still the storm.
DAILY DECLARATION
I choose to give God the praise He deserves right in the middle of my pain and symptoms. We serve an amazing God and I give Him glory even during difficult times. I praise you, Father, and trust You to strengthen me and restore me to full health.
