“...because there is no truth in him.
When he speaks a lie, he speaks what is natural to him,
for he is a liar, and the father of lies and half-truths."
John 8:44
These are red-letter words spoken by Jesus in the gospel of John. Spoken with truth and accuracy, He was describing the character of the devil, your adversary. Point blank - the devil is a liar. And you can be sure that if you are standing on the Word of God for your healing, the devil is ever present with his lies. Has he whispered any of these lies in your ear lately?
You'll never get well.
This is impossible.
No one has ever been healed of this.
Healing is a thing of the past.
Your Aunt so and so died of this and so will you.
You may as well quit now.
Lies. Lies. Lies. We as believers must recognize and expose darkness to the light. You are no match for the lies of the devil without the Word of God. The Word is called the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) and it is your most powerful weapon against those lies. You must be ever ready, steadfast, standing guard against the lies and deception of the enemy. Your agreement with his lies and deception empowers him. Jesus defeated the devil when He was being tempted in the wilderness with the written Word. (Luke 4:1-13) And we must follow His example.
The next time the devil tempts you with his lies, boldly declare these out loud:
“It is written:”
God's Word will never fail. (Luke 1:37)
All things are possible with God. (Mark 10:27)
Jesus went about healing ALL who were oppressed by the devil. (Acts 10:38)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8)
He heals ALL my diseases. (Psalm 103:3)
I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. (Psalm 118:17)
In due season I shall reap if I do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9)
You get the idea. There's power in the words you speak, and you will defeat the devil every time with the Word of God. Rebuke. Renounce. Resist his lies. Refuse to give place to the devil. (Ephesians 4:27) The Word of God is living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword! (Hebrews 4:12) Use it!
DAILY DECLARATION
I refuse to be deceived by your lies devil. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and I refute every tongue which rises against me. (Isaiah 54:17) I take every thought captive and I will not spend a moment pondering your lies or half-truths. So, shut-up devil!
