He's Already Healed You!

“He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses."

Matthew 8:17

In my years of ministry to the sick, I have found that one of the primary deterrents and challenges to receiving physical and emotional healing is the understanding, or lack thereof, as to whether it is God's will and desire to heal us. So often, wrong and misguided teachings on the subject have created confusion and question as to whether God does indeed desire for us to be healed and whole ~ spirit, soul and body. Layered on top of this query is the debate as to whether God actually provided for our healing through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 13:8 teaches that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. Several Scriptures make it perfectly clear that healing for our bodies was and is part of the benefits purchased for us through the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. These scriptures can be found in Isaiah 53:4,5/Matthew 8:17/1 Peter 2.24.

In Isaiah 53:4,5 the prophet Isaiah, is looking ahead to what Jesus would accomplish through the cross at Calvary. Subsequently, the book of Matthew was written after the death and resurrection of Jesus; affirming what He accomplished on the cross. And finally, 1 Peter 2:24 is looking back and describing what the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ had attained for you, the believer. Each of these scriptures makes it crystal clear that it is God's will, intent and desire that we be healed and made whole through His Son, Jesus Christ.

So often, when Christians pray for healing, they nullify their prayers with the words: "If it be Thy will." God has made it clear in His Word what His will is regarding the works of the devil - which include sickness and disease of every kind. We find all throughout the New Testament that Jesus healed everyone who came to Him for healing. He never refused anyone or turned anyone away, nor did He feel the need to ask God's permission before ministering healing. God's unquestionable willingness to heal was demonstrated through His Son, who was the exact representation of God's nature. (Hebrews 1:3) I encourage you to study out these scriptures until you are fully persuaded that it is God's will to heal you and make you whole - because it is!

DAILY DECLARATION

No matter what I have been taught or have experienced, the Holy Spirit leads me into all truth regarding what God's will is for my healing. I will study the scriptures until I know the truth. John 8:32 declares that I will know the truth and the truth will set me free. Thank you Holy Spirit for giving me understanding and clarity as to whether it is God's will to heal me and make me whole.
