“According to your faith let it be to you."
Matthew 9:29
This was the response Jesus gave to the two blind men when asked if they believed that He was able to restore their sight. They immediately asserted: "Yes, Lord." He then declared: "According to your faith let it be to you." And they received their sight.
There are other accounts when Jesus affirmed that an individual's faith had something to do with the manifestation of their healing. Recall the narrative of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5. Having been healed of a twelve year malady, Jesus announced to her: "Daughter, your faith has made you well." And then there's the story of the ten lepers. To the one who returned to give thanks to Jesus; He said: "Your faith has made you well." (Luke 17: 11-19)
It's obvious from these accounts that our faith has something to do with our healing. Aside from a sovereign move of the Holy Spirit when some get healed, it is more common that we receive a manifestation of healing through our faith alone. So this begets the question of where does faith come from and how can we get more? How do we get faith that is pure ~ untainted with fear, doubt and unbelief?
Romans 12:3 states that we, as believers, have each been given the measure of faith. This implies that we've all been given the same measure of faith. Subsequently, scripture tells us that we can increase our faith through the hearing of the Word. (Romans 10:17) The best way to increase your faith is through listening to the Word of God ~ again, again, again and again! Your faith can also increase by using the faith that you have. Exercise your faith; believe for small things and as you do, your faith for bigger things will increase. It's no harder for God to heal cancer than it is for Him to heal a headache. It has more to do with our believing ~ our faith ~ than His ability.
God has already done the heavy lifting of healing for us; He sent Jesus to take our infirmities and bear our sicknesses. Now it's up to us to believe it and act accordingly. I encourage you to begin using the faith you have. Endeavor to put more faith in what God has already done to heal you than in what your body is telling you. According to your faith in God's Word, let it be unto you!
